Welcome to the Inn on the Green
Since opening our doors in July 2005 we have succeeded in transforming this extraordinary space into a thriving community bar, with an emphasis on live music and performance.
Located in the heart of Ladbroke Grove and Portobello, the Inn just goes from strength to strength.
Walk in any day of the week and you'll find something happening: live bands, Salsa or Lambada lessons, theatre, film screenings, book launches, comedy, cabaret, talent showcases - the list goes on and on.
At the heart of this rich menu of enterainment there is a friendly and welcoming ethos. The best of west London socialising but with zero attitude.
We want everyone to feel at ease here. Kids are welcome and you can even bring your dog.
Free unlimited WiFi and the daily papers are on hand. Relax or party, work or play - we leave it up to you.
We have a large venue room, a spacious bar, a dining area, an exhibition space and a spectacular balcony overlooking Portobello Green which doubles as what is probably the best smoking area in London. Feel free to make yourself at home.
Join our Mailing List - fill in your email address at the bottom of this page and be kept up to date with Inn events
Please note that we will be closed for refurbishment from Monday July 19th until Friday August 6th
We will be open on Saturday 24th only for breakfast and drinks from 8am

The Portobello Film Festival
The Inn on the Green will be showing a selection of films as we are one of the venues for the Portobello Film Festival.
The Film Festival was created in 1996 as a reaction to the moribund state of the British film industry, to provide a forum for new film-makers and give exposure to movies on different formats. Many of their previously out-on-a-limb directors have since been recognised by the big fish in the industry.
A magazine with a programme will be available and you will be able to pick it up at the bar.
2nd - 19th September
Selected films will be showing at the Inn, stay tuned for the schedule when announced |

VENUE HIRE DETAILS
 |
The Inn on the Green is available for event hire
The Inn is an incredibly versatile venue.
It has an overall spacious feel, with different areas that can be applied to any kind of event.
There is a dining zone, that can also make way for further dancefloor space if required and is used on a weekly basis by the very popular Salsa and Lambada classes that take place here.
This area also hosts formal dinners and functions, given the excellent catering facilities that are available here with the professional kitchen.
Adjacent to the dining zone is a raised area that is equally at home hosting an exhibition, VIP area, classical recital or band - and this isn't even the main room.
The large main bar area is airy and never cramped even when the place is packed out.
It has large doors and windows that open onto the balcony meaning it is well ventilated and never stuffy.
There is a plasma screen, retro gaming machine and two table football tables which are ever popular.
There is even a cinema screen available in the main venue room should your night require large scale film or video.
Our famous balcony overlooks the beautiful Portobello Green park, and on market days a great view of the hustle and bustle below.
This is also very popular with the smokers among us, no more huddling in doorways on the street.
The main venue room has a stage which has been graced by such luminaries as Mick Jones, Alabama 3, Howard Marks, Pete Wiley, Nick Turner, Glen Matlock, John Cooper Clark and even The Right Honourable Tony Benn.
Those are just a few names off the top of our heads.
This room is equally suited to live bands or club nights. The acoustics are great and it holds 150 people.
The rest of the venue holds another 150 making a total capacity of 300.
If you are interested in hiring the venue, in whole or in part, contact us
We can then discuss how we can fulfill your needs, dates and rates.
Special drinks, license extensions, catering and security are just some of the services we can provide in addition to being the nicest venue that we know of in the area (if not the world!)
A downloadable booking form will soon be available on this site, but for now please follow the Contact Us link. |
